ORDINANCE NO <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES <br />DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $225,000 AND TO <br />APPROPRIATE SAID SUM IN THE GRANTS FUND FOR THE WEED AND <br />SEED INITIATIVE IN THE NEHEMIAH VISION NEIGHBORHOODS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City of Portsmouth accepts a grant from the Community Capacity <br />Development Office of the United States Department of Justice in the amount of <br />$225,000 and appropriates said amount in the Grants Fund for the Weed and Seed <br />Initiative in the Nehemiah Vision Neighborhoods for law enforcement; community <br />policing; prevention, intervention, and treatment; and other neighborhood restoration <br />strategies. <br /> <br />2. That the City's estimated revenues are increased by $225,000. <br /> <br />3.
