AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,945 FROM <br />THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND TO APPROPRIATE <br />$5,260 IN THE GRANTS FUND TO SUPPORT THE RAPID RESPONSE <br />PROJECT LIFESAVER PROGRAM FOR CITY ALZHEIMER'S AND <br />RELATED MENTAL DYSFUNCTION PATIENTS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City of Portsmouth accepts a United States Department of Justice <br />Local Law Enforcement Block grant in the amount of $3,945 for the purpose of funding <br />locational transmitters for twenty Portsmouth residents who suffer from Alzheimer's and <br />related mental dysfunction; <br /> <br />2. That a local match of $1,315 is required as a condition of the .grant award; <br /> <br /> 3. That the sum of $5,260 is appropriated in the Grants Fund to support the <br />Portsmouth Police Department's 2004 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) <br />Program for said purpose; <br /> <br />That the City's estimated revenues are increased accordingly by $3,945; <br /> <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held <br />on September 28, 2004. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
