ORDINANC( <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $88,389 FROM <br />THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND TO APPROPRIATE <br />SAID SUM IN THE GRANTS FUND TO SUPPORT THE 2004 LOCAL LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT (LLEBG) PROGRAM FOR VARIOUS LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT PURPOSES. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City of Portsmouth accepts a United States Department of Justice <br />Local Law Enforcement Block grant in the amount of $88,389; <br /> <br /> 2. That the sum of $88,389 is appropriated in the Grants Fund to support the <br />Portsmouth Police Department's 2004 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) <br />Program for technology, equipment, training and crime prevention initiatives; <br /> <br />That a local cash match of $8,839 is required; <br /> <br />That the City's estimated revenues are increased accordingly; and <br />That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting hekt <br />on September 28, 2004. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
