AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $43,840 <br />AWARDED BY THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY <br />MANAGEMENT AND TO APPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS IN THE GRANTS <br />FUND FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A <br />COMPREHENSIVE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City of Portsmouth accepts a 2004 Local Emergency <br />Management Performance Grant in the amount of $43,840 awarded by the Virginia <br />Department of Emergency Management; and <br /> <br /> 2. That the sum of $43,840 is appropriated in the Grants Fund to be used for <br />enhancing the City's capability to develop and maintain a comprehensive emergency <br />management program; and <br /> <br /> 3. That estimated revenues from the Commonwealth of Virginia are <br />increased accordingly in the FY 2004-05 City budget; and <br /> <br /> 4. That the City agrees to provide in-kind services in the amount of $43,840 <br />for the same purpose; and <br /> <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held <br />on September 14, 2004. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
