Education Allowance <br /> <br /> Sworn personnel in the classifications of Police Officer, Police <br /> Officer Trainee, Police Sergeant, Police Lieutenant, Police Captain, <br /> Fire Fighter, Fire Fighter Trainee, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain and <br /> Fire Battalion Chief will receive an Education Allowance in the <br /> amount of $500 per year for attainment of an Associate's degree or <br /> $1,000 annually for attainment of a Bachelor's degree. <br /> <br /> *NOTE: This allowance will be considered creditable compensation <br /> for purposes of computing retirement. <br /> <br /> j. Self-Contained Breathine Auparatus <br /> <br /> Sworn personnel in classifications of Fire Fighter, Fire Lieutenant, <br /> and Fire Captain, who are certified in the repair and maintenance of <br /> self-contained breathing apparatus and are designated by the Fire <br /> Chief shall receive an allowance of $900 annually. This designation is <br /> limited to six persons. <br /> <br /> k. K-9 Corps <br /> <br /> Any sworn officer of the Police Depamnem assigned to the K-9 <br /> Corps shall be allowed an hour's pay per day for canine care and <br /> maintenance. This time will be reflected as hours worked and be paid <br /> at the officer's hourly rate. On working days these duties will be <br /> performed within the scheduled hours. When the canine is housed at <br /> the canine facility, the officer will receive no compensation for those <br /> days. <br /> <br /> l. City Assessor's Office <br /> <br /> The following pay incentives are provided for the professional staff <br /> of the City Assessor's Office in addition to the pay structure in the <br /> current pay plan: <br /> <br /> 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
