AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $1.9 MILLION IN THE PUBLIC <br />UTILITIES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS FUND FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF AN EMERGENCY DROUGHT WATER MAIN AND A 10" WATER MAIN. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the sum of $1,900,000 be appropriated in the Public Utilities Capital <br />Improvement Fund for the construction of (1) an emergency drought water main <br />connecting Norfolk's Lake Prince Reservoir and Portsmouth's Lake Mead Reservoir in <br />Suffolk and (2) a 10" water main connecting Portsmouth's 24" transmission tine to water <br />mains along Route 17 in Chesapeake. <br /> <br /> 2. That the source of these funds shall be construction monies contributed by <br />the City of Suffolk. <br /> <br />3. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption, <br /> <br /> ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held <br />onNovember 12. 2002. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
