(d) For all water, which passes through meters to the City of Suffolk pursuant <br />to contract, the City of Suffolk shall pay: <br /> <br />(,1) For the first 2.09 million gallons per day of water supplied during <br />a billing period, $2.57 per one thousand (1000) gallons or $1.9226 per one <br />hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. <br /> <br />(2) For any amount of water supplied in excess of 2.09 million <br />gallons per day during a billing period. $3.213 per one thousand (1000) <br />gallons or $2.403 per one hundred (100) cubic feet. <br /> <br /> (e) Customers who are subject to the provisions of subsections (a) and (b) <br />above, may be eligible for an incentive for conserving water. The incentive shall consist <br />of a $5.00 credit applied to the next and subsequent bills of a customer whose <br />consumption is and ramalns at 80% or less of the customer's computed average <br />consumption. "Computed average consumption" is defined as the average of a <br />customer's preceding six months rate of water consumption, determined by the customer's <br />three bimonthly or six monthly billings immediately preceding September 10, 2002. <br />Should a customer not have a history that includes the three bimonthly or six monthly <br />billings prior to September 10, 2002, the customer shall be ineligible for the incentive. If <br />the incentive is inapplicable to a customer or should the customer's computed average <br />exceed 80% of their computed average consumption during a billing period, the rates <br />defined in subsections (a) and (b) shall apply without any incentive. <br /> <br /> 3. That the provisions of tiffs emergency ordinance shall remain in effect for <br />s~xty days from the date of its adoption and may be reenacted in conformity with the <br />provisions of Section 15.2-107 of the Code of Virginia. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held <br />on August 27, 2002. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
