AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND RE-ORDAIN SECTION 24-83, <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, <br />1951, RELATING TO INSPECTION FEES FOR SEWERS, WATER, <br />PLUMBING, ETC. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that Section 24-83, of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, 1951, be amended and re-ordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 24-83° Inspection Fees. <br /> <br /> Before plumbing work is inspected, there shall be Imid to <br />the City Collector by the person requiring such inspection, the follow- <br />lng foes: <br /> <br /> For the inspection of plumbing a fee of two dollars plus <br />an additional one dollar for each fixture or place roughed in for a <br />fixture, installed, placed, or replaced on any premises or removed from <br />one place to another on any premises~ The word "Fixture" within the <br />meaning of this section shall include any of the following: bath tub, <br />laundry tub, closet combination, frostpro~f closets, lavatories, hot <br />v~ater heaters, urinals, automatic ~ashing machines, drinking fountains~ <br />shower stalls, and floor drains. <br /> <br /> It ~11 be the duty of the Plumbing Inspector to issue to <br />any person for inspection a certificate showing the amount of fees to <br />be paid by such applicant, and the City Collector shall receipt upon <br />such certificate the fact of paymeut. The Plumbing Inspector shall <br />keep a proper record of all certificates issued by him and upon which <br />fees are paid and shall file a duplicate copy of such certificate with <br />the City Auditor. <br /> <br /> Any person who shall install any plumbing work within the <br />City with(mt paying the fees provided for in this section, shall he <br />fined not less than twenty-five dollars nor more than one hundred <br />dollarso <br /> <br />This ordinance shall take effect on May 1st, 1958. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a <br />meeting held on April 8, 1958. <br /> <br /> <br />
