3 <br /> <br />· one shall be a member of its planning commission or a citizen and resident of the <br /> city ~nich he has been appointed to represent on this Co~nnission and who holds no <br /> office of profit under its government. The terms of office of the members appointed <br /> by the Beards of Supervisors of Mansemond, Norfolk County, and Princess Anne, and the <br /> Councils of Norfolk, Portsmouth, South Norfolk, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach shall be <br /> consistent with Article V of the Sy-Laws~ F~ch member of the Commission before enter- <br /> ing upon the duties of his office shall take the following oath, <br /> <br /> "I, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that t will <br /> <br /> support the Constitution of the United States: and the Constitution of the ~tate of <br /> Virginia, and that I will faithfully and impartially d~scharge and perform all the <br /> duties incumbent upon me as a member of the Southeastern Virginia Regional Planning <br /> and Economic Developmen~ Commission~ according go the best of my ability~ so help me <br /> God. <br /> <br /> ~Fhenever a member of the Commission, other than the citizen members, who <br />ceases to be a member of the governing body of Nansemond, Norfolk County Princess Anne, <br />Norfolk, Portsmouth, South Norfolk, Suffolk~ or Virginia Beach or of the planning <br />com~mission of Nansemond, Norfolk County~ Princess Anne, Norfolk, Portsmouth~ South <br />Morfolk~ Suffolk~ or Virginia Beac~ as the case may be, he shall cease to be a member <br />~of the Commission; and whenever a citizen member of the Commission ceases to be a citi- <br />zen or resident of the political subdivision whose governing body elected him, he shall <br />cease to be a member of the Commission. A vacancy occurring in the membership ~ the <br />Commission for any cause shall be filled for the unexpired term by the authority making <br />the appointment for the full term. The members of the Commission shall serve as such <br />without cempens~tion, and within ~he limitation of funds that may be provided for the <br />purpose, they may be allowed necessary traveling and other expenses while engaged in <br /> <br />the work of or for the Coawaission. <br /> <br /> §2.
