herein, an employee shall receive the compensation set forth in the schedule <br />under stops "E" and "F~ when he shall have completed 10 and 20 years, res- <br />pecti~ely, of employment with the city. Upon promotion to a hi~her pay range, <br />the employee will be placed in the lowest step which will afford him an in- <br />crease in pay, and thereafter he will be advanced annually to tho next <br />highest step to which Re is entitled. Any employee in steps "E'? or "F" <br />promoted to a higher pay range shall receive the pay as set forth in step <br />"D" of that pay range for one year, except that such employee shall be placed <br />in step ~'E:' or "F~' of the range to which he was promoted if necessary to <br />af£ord him an increase mn pay. <br /> <br /> Section 5. Demotions. <br /> <br /> Any employee who is demoted to a lower range shall receive compensa- <br /> <br />tion according to the range in which he is placed by the City Manager. <br /> Section 6. Transfers. <br /> <br /> Any employee transferred to another class of employment in a higher <br />pay range, shall be deemed to have been promoted and shall be entitled to <br />compensation as provided in Section 4 above, and any employee transferred to <br />another class of employment in a lower pay range, shall be deemed to have <br />been demoted, and shall be entitled to compensation as provided in Section 5 <br />abov o. <br /> <br /> SectiOn ?.
