Any extra compensation allowed by a Department Head must be in <br />advance of the performace of the work an~ with the approval of the City <br />Nanager; the same to be entered by the Department Head on the next succeed- <br />zng pay roll submitted to the City Auditor~ <br />~ ~alary adjustments. <br /> <br /> Salary adjustments to higher steps within a pay range shall be <br />effective upon the first day of the month following the anniversary date c,f <br />employment in that range, except that advancement to steps "E" and "F" shall <br />be effective the first day of the month following comDletion of l0 and 20 <br /> <br />years, respectively, employment with the city. <br /> Section 11o Allowances. <br /> <br /> The rates of pay set forth in the schedule shall he deemed to in- <br />clude the full compensation of the employee, and the value of any allowances <br />made to the employee by the City shall be considered as part of his compensa- <br />tion. <br /> <br /> This ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public <br />health, morals and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and it shall <br />take effect from and after its passage. <br /> <br /> Adopted at a meeting of the Co%uucil of the City of Portsmouth on <br />October 27, 1959. <br /> <br /> <br />
