AN ORDINANCE TO ANEND AND RE-ORDAIN SECTION 24-7 OF <br />Tt{E CODE OF THE CITY.OF PORTSMOUTH, t951, RAW~ATING TO <br />CHARGES FOR SEWER CO~ECTIONS. <br /> <br />Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> Section 1: That Section 94-7 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />1951, be amended and reordained ~o read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 24-7 -- Char~es for Sewer Connections. <br /> <br /> When connection is made with the City sewer, the following charges <br />shall be made to cover the expense of sewer connections from the main <br />line to the curb, in the City. For four inch and six inch connections, <br />the charge for single family residence shall be sixty dollars° For resi- <br />dences for more than one living unit or multiple family apartments, the <br />charge shall be for four inch and six inch connections, sixty dollars <br />for the first living unit and thirty dollars for each additional living <br />unit. For hotels~ motels, motor courts, and like structures, the charge <br />shall be sixty dollars plus five dollars for each room equipped with <br />plumbing fixtures, in the building or project° For dommercial buildings <br />and industrial plants, the charge shall be sixty dollars for each sewer <br />connection and five dollars for each wa~er closet installed. For connec- <br />tions grea~er than six inches, or where the house or building is erected <br />on a lot having a frontage of more than sixty feet, the charge shall he <br />the actual cost plus twelve per cent, but not less than sixty dollars° <br />When more than one connection is required for a premise or an existing <br />connection is enlarged, a charge shall be made for each connection plus <br />any additional cost incurred by the City° <br /> <br />All charges shall be ~aid in advance. <br /> <br /> Section 2: This Ordinance shall be effective from and after <br />1980. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of PortSmouth on April ! ~, 1960. <br /> <br /> <br />
