AN ORDINANCE TO AM~ SECTIONS 1-16, 1-18, A~YD PARAGP~ (c) OF SECTION 1-20 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1951, AS AMENDED, SO AS TO TRANSFER A PORTION OF TYLER WARD TO WASHINGTON WARD AND TO CHANGE THE AREAS OF THE FIRST AND SECOND PRECINCTS OF WASHINGTON WARD, AS THEREIN DESCRIBED. Be it ordained hy the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Sections 1-16, t-l~ and paragraph (c) of Section 1-20 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1951, as amended, be amended and reordained zo read as follows: Section 1-16. Same - Washington Ward. The boundaries of Washington Ward shall be as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the eastern line of the right of way of the Norfolk and Portsmouth Belt Line Rail- road Company with the northern line of the property of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad Company, and running thence northerly along the eastern line of the property of the Norfolk and Portsmouth Belt Line Railroad to the center line of Commerce Street as shown on the plat of Port Norfolk projected east in a straight line across said railroad pro- perty, thence easterly along the center line of Commerce Street, projected, to the center of the channel of a branch of Scotts Creek, thence northerly and easterly along the channel of the branch of said creek and of Scotts Creek following the lines of Monroe and Marshall Wards into the Elizabeth River to the boundary line of the city, thence northwardly and westerly along the boundary line of the city to a point on the eas~ marginal line of Hamilton Avenue projected north in a straight line; thence southerly along the line of Hamilton Avenue to the north margin of Bay View Boulevard; thence westerly along the line of Bay View Boulevard to the intersection of the center line el Hull Creek with the north mar~inat line of Bay View Boule- yard, thence southerly along the center line of Hulls Creek ~o its intersection with the center line of Hamilton Avenue, thence southerly along the center line of Hamilton Avenue to the south line of Detroit Street, 'thence westerly along the south line of Detroit Street to the western property line of the new Port Norfolk Elementary School, thence following the said property line in a southeasterly direction to the center line of Hamilton Avenue, thence southerly along the center line of Hamilton Avenue to the center line of Air Line Turnpike and Drawbridge Company Road, commonly called Suffolk Boule- yard, thence southerly along the cen~er line of Clover Street as shown on the plat of F. Richardson's Clover Street Lots,
