AN ORDINAI{CE AMENDING SECTION 5 OF THE ORDINANCE <br />ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PREPARATION <br />OF A GENERAL RENESYAL PLAN IN CONIfECTION WITH PRO- <br />POSED REDEVE~T PROJECTS, AND FILING OF AN <br />APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL ADVANCE OF FUNDS," ~iqICH <br />?La~S ADOPTED ~J~RCH 28, 1961. <br /> <br /> WHERF2%S, Section 5 of the ordinance entitled "An Ordinance <br />Approving the Preparation of a General Renewal Plan in Connection with <br />Proposed Redevelopment Projects, and Filing of an Application for Federal <br />Advance of Funds," which was adopted March ~$, 1981, contained the phrase <br /> given consideration when the Manual of the Urban Renewal Administration <br />requi~es the use of the phrase "used to the fullest extent feasible;" and <br /> WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Administration has requested that <br />such oversight be corrected. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br /> Portsmonth, VirEinia, that Section 5 of the ordinance entitled "An O~di- <br /> nance Approvin~ the Preparation of a General Renewal Plan in Connection <br /> with Proposed Redevelopment Projects, and FilinE of an Application for <br /> Federal Advance of Funds," be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> Section 5. That it is the intention of this body that the <br /> General Neighborhood ~enewal Plan will be used to the fullest extent <br /> feasible as a ~uide for the provision of public improvements in such Area <br /> and that the Plan will be considered in formulatinE codes and other regula- <br /> tory measures affectin~ property in the Area and in undertaking other local <br /> governmental activities pertaining to the development~ redevelopment, con- <br /> servation, and rehabilitation of the Area. <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth at a meeting <br /> held on August 8, 1961. <br /> <br />City Clerk. <br /> <br /> <br />
