A~ OR~ INANCE TO AMEND SECTION 24-36 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1951, AS At/ENDED, SO AS TO PROVIDE NEW RATES FOR SERVICE CHARGES AND HATES FOR WATER FURNISHED BY THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Section 24-36 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1951, as amended, be amended and reordained to read as follows: Section 24-36. Service Charges and Meter Rates. (a) The following service charges shall be Paid by consumers for the several sizes of meters, which service charge is to be paid in addition to the charge for the amount of water which Passes through the me~er~ This ser- vice charge shall be p~d for each of the premises whose occupants take water from the service pipe: 5/8 inch meter service charge $ 0.50 per month 3/4 inch meter service charge 1.00 per month 1 inch me~er service charge 2.00 per month 1 1/2 inch me~er service Charge 4.00 per month 2 inch meter service charge ?.00 per month 3 inch me,er service charge 15.00 per month 4 inch meter service charge 25.00 per month 6 inch meter service charge 60.00 per month 8 inch meter service charge 100.00 per month 10 inch meter service charge 150.00 per month No water will be allowed for service charge. (b) For all water which Passes through the meter, the consumers within the corporate limits of the Citiss of Portsmouth and Suffolk shall the followin~ rates: pay (1) For the firs~ fifZeen thousand cubic feet used in any one mon~h~ twenty-five cents per htLudred cubic feet. (2) For any nexz quantity between fifteen thousand cubic feet and one million cubic feet used in any one-month, sixteen cents per hundred cubic fee~. (3) For any next quantity in excess of one million cubic feet used in any one month, thirteen cents per hundred cubic feet. The minimum charge for water used, exclusive of the ready ~o serve charge, shall be one dollar per month.
