Section <br /> <br /> Attached to and hereby made a p~rt of this ordinance is a map <br />entitled "M~p of City of Portsmouth, Virginia With Areas Proposed For <br />Annexation, December lBS1", showing the areas sought to be annexed, and <br />indieatin~, generally, the subdivisions, industrial areas, farm areas, <br />vacant areas and others of said areas. <br /> Possible future uses of the property within said areas will be <br /> the subject of the comprehensive planning hereinafter mentioned in connec- <br /> tion with the provisions planned for the future improvement of the areas. <br /> <br /> Section V. <br /> <br /> A general statement of the terms and conditions upon which annexa- <br /> tion is sought follows: <br /> <br /> 1. The City of Portsmouth will, to the exten~ required by law, <br /> assume a just proportion of any existing debt of Norfolk Connty and the <br /> areas vWnerein the territories sought to be annexed lie, as provided by <br /> Section 15-152.12 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. <br /> 2. The City of Portsmouth will, to the extent required by law, <br /> compensate said Co~ty for the value, at the time of said anne~ration, of <br /> all public improvements in the territories annexed, owned and maintained <br /> by said Connty, as provided by Sections 15-t52.I2 and 15-152.13 of the Code <br /> of Virginia, 1950, as amsnded. <br /> <br /> 3o The City of Portsmouth will proceed~ with alt possible dispatch, <br /> to make the provisions now planned for the future improvement of the terri- <br /> tories annexed, includin~ the provision of public utlities and services there- <br /> <br />-12 - <br /> <br /> <br />
