AN ORDINANCE TO AU13{ORIZE ;~ND DIRECT THE <br /> CONVEYANCE OF TWO PARCELS OF LAND WITHIN <br /> ~'~ THE WASHINGTON PARK LOW RENT SLUM CLEARANCE <br />i i!,,-,-_- .PROJECT TO T~ PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT <br /> AND ]lOUSING AUTHORITY <br /> <br /> WHHREAS, the City of Portsmouth has entered <br />:~ into a cooperation agreement for the Washington <br /> Park Low Rent Slum Clearance Project (VA. 1-7) <br />· and the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing <br />~;*is to acquire title to all property'~within the <br /> project boundaries; and <br /> <br /> ~IEREAS, the Planning Commission has <br /> - recommended the conveyance to the Portsmouth <br /> Redevelopment and Housing Authority of two parcels <br /> of vacant land within the project now owned by the <br /> City; and. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Po~smouth Redevelopment and <br />Housing Authority, a political subdivision of the <br />Co~mnonwealth of Virginia with the power of eminent <br />~domain, has offered the sum of $550.00 for said <br /> two parcels of land~ which is considered to be the <br /> approximate fair market value thereof. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council <br />of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the Mayor <br />and City Clerk be, and they hereby are, directed <br />and authorized to execute, seal and deliver to the <br />Portsmouth Redevelop~nt and Housiag Authority, upon <br />payment of the sum of $550.00 into the City Treasury, <br />a deed in form approved by the City Attorney, with <br />appropriate warranties of title, conveying the <br />following two parcels of land situate , of <br /> <br /> <br />
