Each person (other than a laundry, dry cleaning <br /> or diaper supply service establishment located in <br /> the City of Portsmouth and paying a license tax for <br />· the conduct of such business in the City of Portsmouth) <br /> ~. engaging in soliciting general laundry or dry cleaning <br /> work or diaper supply service, where said person does <br /> the laundry, dry cleaning or diaper service work out- <br /> side of the City, or has it done outside of the City, <br /> 'sha~l pay a license tax of $800.00 per annum, and~ in <br /> addition thereto, a license tax of $60.00 per annum for <br /> each truck used in soliciting business within the City. <br /> Not prorated. <br /> <br /> Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions~ a license <br /> $60.00 per annum for each truck used in soliciting <br />business within the City of Portsmouth shall be imposed <br />under this section upon any person operating such business <br />in an adjoining city~ and having his plant in such adjoining <br />city, where such city imposes a similar license tax upon any <br />persgn operating his business in and paying a license tax to <br />~ the City Of Portsmouth and having his pl~nt in Portsmouth'~ <br />. and engaged in such business in both citleso Not prorated. <br /> <br /> The intent of this provision is to grant the same <br />reciprocal privileges to licensed persons in adjoining <br />:cities engaged in such business, provided such cities <br />grant the same reciprocal privileges to such persons <br />licensed by the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> This ordinance being necessary for the preservation <br />of the'public health, morals and safety, an emergency is <br />declared to exist~and it shall take effect from and after <br />its passage~ <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth,' <br /> held March 26~ 1963. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />Cit~ Clerk.' <br /> <br /> <br />
