,ir <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO A~r~ND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PBRTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1961, BY ADDING THERETO A NE~/ SECTION NUMBERED <br />29-66.1, ESTABLISItING THE SIZES OF WATER MAIN TAPS AND <br />THE CHARGES THEREFOR. <br /> <br /> Be it .ordained by the Council for the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that the Code' of the City of Portsm <br />Virginia, !961~ be amended by adding thereto a now sectiom~ <br />numbered 29-66.1, to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Sec. 29-66.1 Size of taps; tap charges. <br /> <br /> (a) All houses hereafter served with water <br />shall be connected with a water main of the city <br />by a tap of such size as the superintendent of <br />the water department may deem necessary. The <br />sizes of taps and charges therefor, within the <br />corporat~ limits of the city and of the City of <br />Suffolk, shall be as follows: <br /> <br />S/8 inch tap ...................... $10.00 <br />1 inch tap ...................... 1S.00 <br />1-1/2 inch tap ...................... 30.00 <br /> <br /> (b) For houses outside the corporate limits <br />of the city and of the City of Suffolk, such taps <br />and charges shall b~ as follows: <br /> <br />S/g inch Tap ...................... $15.00 <br />1 inch tap ...................... 20.00 <br />1=i/2 inch tap., ....................
