;uN ORDINANCE TO A~END THE CODE OF TIlE CITY DF PORTSMOUTII, <br />VIRGINIA~ 1961, BY ADDtNG TItERETO FOUR NEW SECTIONS CREATING <br />THE PORTSMOUTH MUNICIPAL BOND COI~ISStON~ PROVIDING FOR THE <br />APPOINTMENT OF AND PRESCRIBING TIlE TERMS OF OFFICE OF AND <br />Tile OATH TO BE TAKEN BY TIlE ME~ERS OF SAID CO~IISSION, <br />PROVIDING FOR !Q~E FILLING OF VACANCIES ON SAID COMMISSION, <br />FOR THE COMPENSATION OF SAID M~MBERS, FOR THE ORG-%NIZATION <br />OF SAID COMMISSION, AND PRESCRIBING THE RESPONSIBILITIES <br />AND DUTIES OF SAID COMMISSION. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> Section 1: ~ That the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, 1961, be amended by adding thereto four new sections <br />to be numbered and to reaa as follows: <br /> <br />ARTICLE XIV. <br />Sec. 10-i17. <br /> <br />MUNICIPAL BOND CO~{ISSION, <br /> <br />Portsmoutk ~niclpal Bond Commission - <br />crea'cion; composition, <br /> <br /> A commission, to be known as the Portsmouth Municipal <br />Bond Commission, is h~reby created. The commission shall <br />consist of eight members. The mayor, city manager and <br />city auditor of the city shall be ex officio members of <br />the commission~ and th~ remaining five members shall be <br />appointed by the council. The appointed m~mbers shall <br />be residents of the city. <br /> <br />Sec. 10-118. Same - terms of members; oath; vacancies; <br /> compensation. <br /> <br /> The te~ims of the ex officio members shall begin on <br />March 1, 1964, and shall correspond to their respective <br />official tenures, The members first appointed shall be <br />appointed :o serve for 'terms of three years from March 1, <br />1964, and there'~fter th~ appointed members shall be <br />appointed for terms of three years. All members shall <br />take the oath of office prescribed by the Char~er for <br />officers of the city, and if any such member shall, for <br />thirty days' after receiving notice of such appointment, <br />fail. to take such oath, :onsidered as having <br /> <br /> <br />
