~ ORDINANCE TO ~IEND SECTION 2-44 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, <br />PERT^INING TO THE DUTIES OP THE CITY ATTORNEY, <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Section 2-44 of the <br />Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1961~ <br />be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-44. Generally <br /> <br /> In addition to the other duties prescribed <br />by law, the city attorney shall represent the <br />interest of the city in ali civil cases arising <br />in the courts and in all proceedings before <br />boards and commissions. Ail fees ~llowed the <br />city attorney by law for acting as attorney in <br />suits, actions and proceedings to which the city <br />iS a party shall be collected by him and paid <br />into the city treasury. <br /> <br />-'-~'-~ Adopted'by the Council of the City of Ports- <br /> mouth, Virginia, at a meeting held ~fay 10~ 1966, <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
