Sec. 37A-11. Payment of balance, etc., as prerequisite to <br /> acceptance of deposit or to water service. <br /> <br /> If an c~ner or tenant, as the case may be, falls or refuses to pay <br />for water service supplied such o~aaer or te~z~nt as shown by the balance, <br />charge or fee on the books of the water department for a premises, as <br />defined in section 37A-4, no deposit will be accepted frmm and no water <br />supplied such owner or tenant for the same or any other pramises for his <br />ovm use until such balance, charge or fee is paid. <br /> <br />Sec. 37A-12; Disposition of deposit; payment of balance <br /> due over amount of deposit. <br /> <br /> The deposit shall be held by the water departzaent until the occupant <br />of the premises, as defined in section 37A-4, moves fr~n the same, at <br />which time ~ portion of such deposit due sb~ll be returned without <br />interest to the person by whmm it was made, provided the meter has been <br />read and the balance~ charges or fees to dats deducted frmn the amour~ <br />of the deposit. If the deposit is not sufficient to pay all charges arJ <br />fees up to the date on which the tenant vacates the premises in question, <br />the tenant shall pay the balance due. <br /> <br />Sec. 37A-13. When service to be contracted for ar~ paid <br /> for by ~ner. <br /> <br /> If the same service pipe supplies more than one pramise, as defined <br />in section 37A-4, or if one premise is occupied by more than one tenant, <br />the charges for water supplied such premise shall be contracted for <br />paid for by the ~mer. <br /> <br />Sec. 37A-14. Respormibility of owner upon s~ wa~er <br /> service contract. <br /> <br /> The owner of a premise occupied or to be occupied by a tenant may <br />sign a contract for water to be supplied such pranise, and by so doim~ he <br />assames respom~ibility for the payment of charges for waver supplied the <br />tenant. <br /> <br />Sec. 37A-15. Notice to water depar~nent ~nen tenant <br /> signs.application. <br /> <br /> If water is supplied a premise, as defined in section 37A-4, on the <br />application of a tenant, ~ne ovmer of the pramise or his agent shall give <br />prompt notice in writing to the water depa~ent as ~o charges in tenants. <br /> <br />Sec. 37A-16.
