in any such building or pramises tm_less such person <br />is certified as herein required as a master elec- <br />trician or holds a limited certificate as authorized <br />by section 9-29; provided, however, that nothimg <br />herein shall be construed as authorizirg the holder <br />of any limited certificate to do tony electrical <br />work not permitted under such certificate. <br /> <br />Sec. 9~41. <br /> <br />Certificates of competency required <br />for nmster, journeyman and maintenance <br />electricians; exception for homeo~,,mers. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person ~o do any <br />electrical work in the city unless he is qualified <br />and certified as a master electrician, journeyo~n <br />electrician or maintenance electrician as provided <br />herein or is employed by a certified electrician <br />so qualified and certified and. works acco_~ding to <br />directions and under the direct and personal~super- <br />vision of a qualified and certified maSter or <br />journe~mm~n electrician working for such master, or <br />holds a limited certificate in accordance with <br />section 9-29; provided, however, it shall be un- <br />lawful for the holder of any such limited certi- <br />ficate to do any electricial work not permitted <br />under such certificate. <br /> <br /> No~ning in this article, however, shall be <br />constructed to prevent the owner of any house in <br />this city from doing his own electricial work; <br />provided, such homeo~mer successz~lly ccmpietes an <br />examimation damonstratimg ~is knowledge of any <br />familiarity with the Electricial Code of the city <br />ard gocd wiring practice; and further provided, <br />that an electricialpermit is obtained and such work <br />meets all requir~aents of the Electricial Code and <br />is approved by the electricial inspector upon cmm- <br />pletion.
