Th~ term of the ex officio member shall begin <br />on November 1, 1966, and shall correspond to his <br />official tenure. The terms of the appointed m~n- <br />bets shall begin on November 1, 1966. Of the <br />original board, one of the appointed members s~all <br />be appointed for a term of one year, one for a term <br />of two years, one for a term of three years, and <br />one for a term of four years. At the expiration <br />of the respective terms of such appointed members, <br />their successors shall be appointed for terms of <br />four years. The appointed members snail hold <br />office during their respective terms and until <br />their successors are appointed and qualified. All <br />vacancies shall be filled by appointment by the <br />council for the remainder of the unexpired term. <br />Hach member shall take the oath of office prescribed <br />by the charter for city officials, and if any such <br />member shalt, for thirty days after recezving notice <br />of such appointment, fail to take such oath, ne <br />shall be considered as having declfned said office, <br />and the same shall be deemed vacant. All members <br />of the hoard shall serve as such without compensation. <br /> <br />Sec. 1SA-9. Same - Organization; quor~ue. <br /> <br /> The members of the Portsmouth Law Library <br />Board shall, immediately after their election and <br />qualification, meet and organize. They shall elect <br />a chairman, a vice-chainaan and .such other officers <br />thereof, if any, as they may deem necessary. They <br />shall hold office for a term of one year. A <br />majority of the members of the board shall con- <br />stitute a quorum for the transaction of business. <br /> <br />Sec. 1SA-10. Same - Powers ai~ duties. <br /> <br /> The board shall have the control and manage- <br />ment of the Portsmouth Law Library and shall make <br />and adopt such by-laws, rmles and regulations for <br />their guidance and for the control and management <br />of the Portsmouth Law Library as may be deemed <br />necessary and expedient. <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
