Additional death benefits. <br /> <br /> (a) Should a member, who had one or more <br />yea_~s of creditable service die in service at any <br />time before retirement from a cause not compen- <br />sable under the Virginia Workmen's Compensation <br />Act~ an additional benefit equal to one thousand <br />dollars, shall then be payable in a lump sum in <br />accordance ~ith section 26-42. <br /> <br /> (b) Should a mamber die in service at any <br />time after having attained his sixtieth birthday, <br />from a cause not cmmpensable under the Virginia <br />Workmen's Compensation Act, there shall be paid a <br />retirament allowa~ce to the firs~ of the follow- <br />Lng listed persons, if any are alive at the death <br />of the mamber: Wife, husband, mother, father; <br />such retirement allowance shall be continued dur- <br />Lng the lifetime of such first listed person and <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br /> <br />
