shall be equal to the reduced retirament allowance that would ~ave been psJable had the mmncer retired on the date of his death after havi~g elected to have his allowance payable under the joint a~nd last su~vivor option described in subsection (a) (2) of section 26-41 so that the same amount would be continued after his death to such first listed person and in such event the mamber's accu- mulated contributions shall be tree, nsf erred from the mamDers' contribution account to the retire- ment allows~nce accoun~ as provided ~n section 26-28 (f); provided, that if no such listed parson survives the m~mber, or if the firs~ listed parson is the m~£oer's designated beneficiary and so elects, the amount of the member's accmuulated eontributions~ reduced by the amount of may re- tir~nent allowance previously received by under ~y of tD.e pre~sions of t~is ~icle shall then be payable im a l~mp s~n in accordance with section- 26-42, in lieu of ~my benefits under this subsection; provided further that if the of the mamber's accamulated contributions prior to such reduction is less than twenzy-five dollars, no benefit shall be paybte hereunder s_nd the mare- bet's accamulated contributions shall' be trans- ferred frc~ the members' contribution account to the retiramenv allowance accoun~ as provided in section 26-28 (f). (c) Should a member~ who had one or mo_re years of creditable se_~wice, die after termination of se_r~ice, but before his noma! retir~nenv date; provided that the mamber has been continuous~ disabled from the date of termination of service to date of death~ and such disability has been such as would qualify the m~nber for disability retirement in accordance with either section 26-33 or section 26-3~, without regard ~o any creditabie service requirements or actual re~ire- merit thereumder; and provided further~ thaz ~rritten notificazion of such disability is given to the board by the m~nber, his appointirg author- ity or suc~ parson or persons entitled ~o such -6-
