'AN ORDINANCE TO CLOSE PORTIONS OF CRABAPPLE STREET, I~HOMAS CIRCLE, BART STRE~i', CLIFF0~T STRa~WT, AND GRIFFIN STREET, LOCA~D IN THE ~.VER REDEVELOPI~R~T PROJECT, VA. R-40. ~g~]LREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virgir~ia, on its own motion, desires to close and discontinue the hereinafter described portions of streets, located in the Weaver Redevelopment Project Va. R-40; and WHEREAS, the School Board of the City of Portsmouth, the ~ abutting property o~mer, has consented to the said closings. · . ~NOW,~ THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Comncil of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, th~ the follo~ing portions of streets, located · in the Weaver Redevelopment Project, Va. R-40, be, and the s~me are hereby closed and vacated as public streets: _ -- 1. Crabapple Street i~rom the southern right of way line of Clifford Street to the northern right of way line of Interstate Higdn- way Route 264. 2. Thomas Circle (formerly Chestnut Street) from the extensiofl 'of the botmdary line between Parcels 9 and 10 as shown on that certain plat entitled'~ortsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Urban Renewal-Weaver Redevelopment Project, Boundary and Imroperty Line Map", dated Janu~mry 17, 1967, recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Court of Hustings for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, in MaD Book 5, page 67, sout~ to the northern right of way of Inter- state~ High~ay Route 264. 3. Bart Street from the eastern right of wa~v line of Thomas Circle east to a point 1~0.35 feet east of the western right of way line of Effingham Street as shoran on the aforesaid plat of the Weaver Redevelopment Project. ~. Clifford Street from the western right of ray l~_ne of Crabapple Street east to the ri~at of way line of Interstate Hig~hway Route 264, excluding therefrom so much of Clifford Street as lies within the cul-de-sac at the southern terminus of Crabapple Street as sh~n on the aforesaid plat. 5. Griffin Street from the westeria rig~ht of way line of Crabapple Street east to the right of way line of Interstate Hig~hway Route 264.
