AN ORDINANCE TO ~ THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1961, BY ADDING THERETO A N~ SECTION ~L~MBERED <br />31-20.1, WREQUIRING THE OVERHANGING PORTIONS OF BUSHES, <br /> <br />TO IRFfEP~'m~E WITH THE PUBLIC PASSAGE. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />that the Code of the City of Portsmouth, ¥ir~a, 1961, by adding thereto <br />a new section numbered 31-20.1, such new' section to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 31-20.1. Trimming of bushes, shrubs, trees, etc. required. <br /> <br /> It shall be the duty of amy person who ovms or occupies any property <br />on which are situated any bushes, shrubs, trees or other plants tb~t over- <br />b~mag any public right of way tokeep such bushes, shrubs, trees and other <br />plants trimmed so that such overhanging projections s.hall in no way in~ede <br />or interfere with the free public passage along such right of way. Any <br />person violating any provision of this section shall be subjectto a fine <br />of not less than twenty-five dollars, and in addition thereto shall pay <br />any expense incurred by the city in havir~ such bushes, shrubs, trees <br />and other plants trimmed im conformity herewith. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at <br />a meeting held on November 26, 1968. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
