AN ORDi~I~NCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF TN_LRD <br />AND sEVEN'iH STREETS IN CHURC~LAk~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Creed M'~miard, Wilson ~. Spr~%ll, Charles E.~ Russell and <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, have made aPPlication to Vacate~ close <br />and discontin~e the hereinafter described portions of Third and Seventh <br />Streets in the Churchland area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council, adopted October 8, 1968, <br />viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364 of the Cede of Vir- <br />ginia, 1950~ as amended, to view the hereinafter described portions of - <br />the said streets .located in the Churchland area and to report in writing <br />~hether in their opinion, any, and if any, wb~t inconvenience would result <br />fram discontinuing the below described streets; and <br /> <br />WH~, the said viewers have reported in ~.~itirg that in their <br />opinion no inconvenience would result fram closing and dlscontzuuz~g said <br />°streets; <br /> <br /> MOW, THER~ORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, that: <br /> <br /> - (1) Third Street frmu tlne west side of Tyre Neck Road, thence run- <br />ning in a Westerly direction 475 feet, more or less, to its terminus at <br />the eastern right-of-~,ay of the Norfolk, Franklin and .Danville Railroad, <br />which portion of Third Street separates Blocks 19 and 20 on the Plat of <br />the Churchland Land Cmupany; <br /> <br /> (2) Seventh Street fr~a the east side of ~yre Neck Road; thence <br />running in an easterly direction 405 feet~ mere or less, to its tenninus <br />in a s~amp; <br /> <br />and the s~me are hereby closed and vacated as public streets. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portam_outh, VirgLuia, at a <br />meeting held Novamber 26, 1968. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
