AN ORDINANCE TO A~ND SECTION 62 OF THE LICENSE TAX 0RDINANL~E <br />OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, 1965, IMPOSING A LICENSE TAX ON <br />COIN-OPEEA'I~ MACPLINES FOR CLEANING AND POLISHIhD SHOES. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that <br />Section 62 of the License Tax Ordinance of the City of Port. smouth, 1965, be. <br />amended aud reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 62. Coin .Machines and Coin Machine Operators. <br /> <br /> (a) Every person havin~ or exbibiting anywhere in the <br />City of Portsmouth a coin machine or device of any description <br />into which are inserted coins of any denomination that operates <br />on the coi~-in-the-slot principle shall pay a license tax for <br />each such machine or device in the following an°unts per annum. <br /> <br />(t) For each such machine which plays music only, $10.00. <br /> <br />(2) For each such machine registering the weight of a <br /> person, $5.00. <br /> <br />(3) For each such machine used for the cleaning and <br /> polishing of bowling balls, $5.00. <br /> <br />(4) For each such machine used for the cleaning and <br /> polishing of shoes, $10.00. <br /> <br />(5) <br /> <br />For each such machine used solely for the safe keeping <br />of packages, bags, etc., for each compartment or sep- <br />arate receptacle, $0~50. <br /> <br />(6) For each such machine which plays music and shows <br /> motion pictures only, $10.00. <br /> <br />(7) For each such machine used for the washing and dr~- <br /> ing of clothes, where there is rot a paid attendant on <br /> the premises at all times, $10.00. <br /> <br />(8) For each such vending machine, despensing merchandise <br /> only and having no a~asement devibe, in which coins <br /> of five cents or over are deposited, $5.00, and in <br /> which bne cent is deposited, $0.50. <br /> <br /> (9) <br /> <br />(10) <br /> <br />For each coin-operated radio used in hotel or roomng <br />house, $1.00. <br /> <br />For each such machine of any other type or device, in <br />which coins are deposited whichmay be allowed by the <br /> <br /> <br />
