106.2 - CONTRACSDRS LICENSE AND BOND REQUIRED <br /> <br /> It shall be the duty of every contractor or builder, who shall <br />m~ke contracts for the erection or construction or repair or demolition <br />of buildings for which a permit is require~, and every contractor or <br />builder making such contracts and subletting the same, or any part <br />thereof, to pay a license tax as provided for that purpose, with the . <br />Building Official, giving full name, residence and place of business, <br />and, in case of removal from one place to another ko have made corres- <br />ponding change in said register accordingly; and it shall be the further <br />duty of every such person to give good and sufficient bond in the sm <br />of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), to be approved by the City Attorney <br />conditioned to conform to the building regulations, the regulations of <br />this section, mud other ordinances or laws of the applicable governing <br />body in reference to buildings. <br /> <br />114 - VIOLATIOMS ~ND PENALTIES <br /> <br /> (a) Any person, firm, corporation or agent who shall violate a <br />provision of this code, or fall to comply therewith, or vn~th any-of <br />the requirements thereof, or who shall erect, construct, alter, demolish <br />or .move any structure, or has erected, constructed, altered, repaired, <br />moved or damolished a building or structure in violation of a detailed <br />statement or drawiug submitted and approved thereunder, shall be guilty <br />of a misdemeanor. Each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate <br />offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any <br />violation of ~uy of the provisions of this code is committed, or con- <br />tinued and upon conviction of muy such violation such person shall be <br />punished, by a fine of not less than $25.00 or more than $1,000.00. <br /> <br /> (b) In addition to any other penalty prescribed for violation of <br />the provisions hereof, if any person, firm or corporation after having <br />obtained a per~mit for the demolition of any building or st~cture shall <br />fall, refuse or neglect to comply with Subsection 106.1 (e) of this Code, <br />that permittee shall forfeit so much of the Five ~nousand Dollar [$5,000.00) <br />contractor's bond required under said section as is necessary to cover <br />the costs and expenses incurred by the city in removing the offending <br />matter to a proper site. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Co~mncil of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at <br />a meeting held October 8, 1968. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
