Sec. 13-17. Weeds mud Debris Prohibited. It shall be unlawful and shall constitute a nuisance for the ~owne, r of~any !and or lot in the city to permit any weeds to grow upon.such lanm or lot to a height exceeding 15 inches within 300 feet of any buxlding or to permit any debris to remain at any place upon such land or lot. Sec. 13-1?.l Weeds and Debris Prohibited - when constituting fire hazard. It shall be unlawful for the owner of any land or lot within the city to permit any weeds or debris to rein upon such land or lot in such quantity and condition as to constitute a fire hazard. Sec. 13-17.2 Removal of Weeds and Debris - Notice to Cut or Ramove - Action upon Non-compliance. Whenever the director has determined that a violation of Section 13-17 or Section 13-17.1 of this article has occurred, he shall, except as provided in Sections 13-17.3, 13-17,4 and 13-1~.5, give notice in writing to the o~maer of the land or lot upon which the violation exists to cut or remove or cause to be cut or removed the weeds or debris complained of within seven days. Such notice shall be delivered or mailed to the last known address of the owner and the proof of such mailing shall besufficient evidence of serving such notice by mail. Should any owner fail to comply with such notice within the time specified therein, the director shall cause the offending weeds or debris to be cut or removed by agents or employees of the city and the cost or expenses thereof shall be chargeable to and paid by the o,maer of such property. After employees or agents of the city have removed or cut any nuismuce contemplated by this ordinance, then the director shall transrmit to the City Treasurer a memorandum of such cost and uponreceipt of said memorandum, the City TreasUrer shall add such cost to the next regular bill for taxes on the land assessed against such owner and shall collect the cost with the taxes assessed in the same rmanner and by the same process as is prescribed for the collection of taxes. Sec. 13-17. ~ Weeds and Debris Prohibited - On sidewalks and be- tween property line and street or alley adjacent to o~maer's property. (a) It shall be unlawful and shall constitute a nuisance for the owner of any land or lot in the c'ity to permit any weeds or debris to remain upon any portion of the sidewalk or area between the property line of such land or lot and the curb of the street adjacent thereto or to remain between the property line of such land or lot and the middle of any street adjacent thereto having no curb or to remain between the property line and the middle of an alley adjacent to the property line of such land or lot. -2-
