Sec. 5. BOARD FOR T~r~ LOE~MINATION OP GAS P~'I'I~i~S & CODE R~{I~~ BOARD. There shall be a ~ard.for the examination of gas fitters which shall, also~ be a Board of Review fer the Gas Code. It shall consist of the Director of Inspections~ ~aao shall be its chaL~man, the Gas In- spectoP~ who shall be its secretaI~ and fo,Jr (4) quelified gas fitters. ~ae latter fo-~r shall be appointed bP the City ~anager. Of the original Board, two appo~--nted members shall serve for two (2) years and two ap- pointed members shall seF~e for oneI (1) year. At the expiration of the respective terms of the appointed mem~ers~ their successors shall be appointed for the term of t~e (2) years. Ehe appointed members shall serve without renm~.eration from the lOity. Ail members shall have the same voting power. In the event the Board shall be equally divided in any of its opinions the question in controversy shall be submitted to the City Manager who shall act as arbitrator. Sec. '6. DUTIES It shall be the duty of the Board to examine each and everyone wishing to becom~ a gas fitter~ to determine their capabilities and f~tn~ss.before enteri~4E the practic$ of gas fitting in the City. Upon his passage, he shall be given a ce;eificate of competence be@ring the signatm~es of the mambers of the Bo ~r~ wP~ch will entitle hZm to practice, provided he complies with such' othe~ ~ City ordinances as shall be neces- sarCf. One bona fide me~er of ar~- }irm or corporation mu. st hold a Masters certificate from the exam~u ~4~ board. ' Sec. ?. APPLICATION FOR EY~4INATIO[; L~2~INATION FEE. Blar~k for~s of application for exa~,~nation m~y be secured, upon request, fram t~e secretary of the ~oard for the exa~dnation Of Journey- m~n and Y~ster gas fitters. Ehese fortaz shall be filled in properly and filed with the Secretary, accmmpaniemd by a receipt signed the City Treasurer~ sho~ug that au exa~uation fee of ~en dollars for Journeyman am~ twent dol- lars for Master has been paid. Exa~ation.s of applicants for certificates of competence ~hall be held as soon as possmble after an application has been received by the Secretary. Sec. 8. ~ PR~WRE~TIS±±~ TO SU~.
