Sec. 32-18. <br /> <br />Article IV.'- Required Improvements. <br />Monumants. <br /> <br /> Monuments shall be placed at ali block corners and at <br />the tangent point of curves connecting intersecting street lines~ <br />at the points of curvature and tangency in curved street lines, <br />and at all corners in the ext~rmor boundary of the subdivision <br />'and at such other points as may be designated by the city en- <br />~.gineero Monuments shall be set flush with the surface of ~he <br /> ground or finished grade, visible upon final acceptance inspection, <br /> and shall be either: <br /> <br /> (a) Pre-case concrete, 30 inches in length, 6 inches <br /> square or 8 inches in diameter, with a metal pin imbedded there- <br /> in; or <br /> <br /> . (b) A steel or irbn pin, 6/8 of an inch in diameter, <br /> set in poured concrete, at least 18 inches deep and l0 inches <br />'square. <br /> <br />Sec. 32-19. Utility and street improvements. <br /> <br /> -In subdivisions or parts of subdivisions situated with .... <br />in the city, improvements shall be provided as follows: <br /> <br /> (a) Streets shall be graded to the full width and <br />in conformance to the approved cross sections and profiles and <br />shall be surfaced as set forth below. <br /> <br /> (b) The pavement base and surface of streets shall <br />'be_appropriate to the type of development and type of use con- <br />templated and shall be installed in accordance with standards <br />and specifications of the City of Portsmouth. The thickness of <br />base and pavement shall be determmnea y actual soil bearing <br />test of the California Bearing Ratio type, or equal, and anti- <br />cipated traffic loading methods as developed by The Asphalt In- <br />stitute or the Portland Cement Association. <br /> <br /> (c) A drainage system shall he provided to insure <br /> sys,~m <br />adequate drainage of both natural and storm water. The ~ <br />shall be constructed ~nd installed in accordance with plans and <br />speci~cations approved by the city engineer. <br /> <br /> (d) Curbs and gutters or valley gutters shall be <br />appropriate to the mtype of development contemplated and shall <br />be installed in accordance with the p!~2ns and specifications <br />approved b~ the city engineer. <br /> <br /> (e) Water l~nes shall be installe~ by the city at <br /> ~he convenl n~ o~ ,He ci,y, ~in accordance with ~t <br /> the ~ity at the time reouest fo~ suoh ~s~la~mon is made.
