AN ORDINANCE TO ~MEND SECTION 11-5 OF THE CODE OF ~ CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, TO ESTABLISH A MIkr~MUM PENALTY FOR <br />Gi'UING FALSE AL~S OF FIRE. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that Section 11-5 of the Code of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, 1961, be an~nded ar~ reordained to read as fol- <br />lows: <br /> <br />Section 11-5. <br /> <br />Prohibiting the Use of Fire Alarm Key; False <br />Alarm of Fire. <br /> <br /> (a) It shall be unlawful for m~%v person other than the <br />Ckief of the Fire Dep~rtment and such persons as may be authorized <br />by him, to make use of a fire ala_~m key for any purpose, except <br />to turn in an actual a!ar~m of fire. <br /> <br /> (b) It shall be unla~u~ul for any person to willfully <br />or knowingly give a false alarm of fire by any mear~. <br /> <br /> (c) Arjf person who s.h~l violate any of the provisions <br />of this section shall, u~n conviction thereof, be punished by <br />imprisonment for not less than thirty days nor more th~n twelv~ <br />months, or fined not less th~n $100.00 nor more tb~n $1,000.00, <br />or both. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, at a meetirgheld Marsh 24, 1970. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
