AN ORDINANCE TO A~ND THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE <br />CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, 19gl~ BY AMENDING SECTION 4-9.1 <br />THEREOF SO AS TO PERMIT ONLY SINGLE FAMILY AND TWO <br />FAMILY DWELLINGS TO BE CONSTRUCTED FOR P~SIDENTIAL <br />USE IN THE OFFICE RESIDENTIAL OR-75 ZONING DISTRICT. <br /> <br /> · BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of t~e City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia; <br /> <br /> That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia~ 1961 be &mended by amending Section 4-9.1 thereof, <br />such amended section to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 4-9.1. Office Residential 0R-75. District Uses. <br /> <br /> (a) Within the Office Residential 0R-75 District the <br />following uses are allowed: <br /> <br />Accessory uses and structures incidental to any permitted resi- <br />dential use, such as servant's quarters, garages, greenhouses <br />or workshops, provided that none shall be rented or occupied <br />for gain, that no accessory building shall be inhabited by <br />other than employees of the owner, lessee~ or ~enant of the <br />premises; provided that no accessory building to be used for <br />living quarters shall be constructed upon a plot until the con- <br />struction of the principal building has been commenced. <br /> <br />Agencies and offices ~endering specialized services in the pro- <br />fessi~ns, finance, real estate and b~okerage, including service <br />agencies not involvir~ on-premises retail or wholesale trade, <br />nor maintenance of a stock of goods for sale to the general <br />public. <br /> <br />Apothecary shop operated as a retail use within a building, the <br />primary use of which is fo? a hospitai~ ctinic, or physicians' <br />offices, provided, .that said apothecary shop shall sell only <br />drugs, ~rescription medicines (both ethical and proprietary), <br />medicinal supplies and appliances and pharmaceutical products; <br />and provided further, that no~ more than fifty percent of the <br />ground floor area of such building to be used for such apothecary <br />shop. <br /> <br />Automobile parking o~erated~in_ con=unc~mon~ ~ ~ wm~s'~' permitted uses <br />and in accordance with the requirements of SectiOn 3-15. <br /> <br />Banks. <br /> <br />Baroer~ b~u~y =n~ o~ne_ personal services conducted~within ='-= <br />principal building bu~ onIy 0y a person resident in the building. <br /> <br /> <br />
