AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE ZONING OF PORTSMOUTH, 1961, BY AMENDING ESTABLISHING MINIMUM PLOT WIDTHS RESIDENTIAL R-75 DISTRICT. ORDINANCE OF THE CITY SECTION 5-7 THEREOF, FOR ROW HOUSES IN THE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: i. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, be amended by amending Section 5-7 thereof, such amended section to read as follows: Section 5-7. Residential R-75, Residential R-75-S and Office Residential OR-75 District Dimensional Requirements. Within the Residential R-75, Residential R-75-S and Office Residential 0R-75 Districts as shown on the Zon- ing Map, all the following dimensional requirements shall be complied with: (a) Minimum required plot area in the Residential R-75-S and Office Residential 0R-75 Districts and for the first dwelling unit in the Residential R-75 or Office Resi- dential 0R-75 Districts other than for row houses ........ 7,500 square feet. (b) Minimum additional plot area per dwelling unit for each unit in excess of one in the Residential R-75 or Office Residential 0R-75 Districts ........ 3,000 square feet. (c) Minimum required plot area for row houses only in the Residential R-75 District ...... 2,500 square feet; except that as an alternate method of development, a subdivision of row houses may be approved without a minimum plot size re- quiremant, provided that the maximum number of plots per gross acre shall not exceed 12 plots per gross acre and all other dimensional requirements set forth by this section which are applicable to row ~houses are followed. "Gross acre" shall not include any public street right of way properly dedicated and accepted for maintenance by the City. (d) Minimum required plot width for the Residential R-75-S District and for the first dwelling unit other than a row house in the Residential R-75 or Office Residential OR-75 Districts ........ 50 feet.
