on the surfac~ of pools shall be removed at least once <br />daily with an approved type vacuum cleaner or as often <br />as necessary to maintain good sanitary conditions. All <br />swimming pools shall be thoroughly cleansed at least once <br />each week in a manner and by the use of such disinfecting <br />agents or cleansing materials as may be required by the <br />Director. <br /> <br /> Sec. 14-25. Periodical Inspection. The Director <br />shall inspect or cause to be inspected all swimming pools <br />within the city at such times as he may deem necessary to <br />carry out the intent of this ordinace. The Director is <br />hereby authorized to enter upon any premises, private or <br />public, to take such ~amples of water from such pools at <br />such times as he m~y deem necessary and to require the <br />owner, proprietor or operator to comply with~ Rules and Regu- <br />lations pertaining to swlmming pools promulgated by the <br />Director in accordance with this ordinace. In the event of <br />the failure of compliance after due notice with the Rules <br />and Regulations and requlrements of the Director or the re- <br />quirements of this ordinance, the Director shall have the <br />power to abate or cause a suspension of the use of such <br />swimming pool until such time as the same is, in the opinion <br />of the Director~ no longer a menace or a hazard to health~r~ <br />safety or morals. Five days' written notice.to the owner~ <br />operator, or' lessee shall constitue due notice. <br /> <br /> Sec. 14-26. Operation and Maintenance. Chlor- <br />ination ptant~ shall be operated in such manner that the <br />amount of excess or available chlorine in all p~rts of the. <br />pool at all times when the poo! is in use shall not be less <br />than 0.5 parts per million, or more than 1.0 parts pe.r <br />million° The chlorinator and tanks shall be installed in <br />a special closet, with vent to the exterior of the building <br />and with a fan, unless considered unnecessary by the Director. <br />A sufficient number of daily tests for available chlorine <br />shall be made by the pool operator and a record kept of these <br />tests to insure proper operation. <br /> <br />2.
