The permittee shall not re~ve oven temporarily any trees or shrubs which exist in par~J~g strip areas er easements across private property without first having notified and obtained the consent of the property owner, or in the ease of public property the appropriate city depar~j~ent or city official having control of such ~roperty. Section 31-37.4. Same; sidewalks. Any excavation nz~ie ~n any sidewalk or under a .sidewalk shall be provided witJ% a substantial and adequate footbridge over said ~xca- vation on the line of the sidewalk, which bridge shall be at least three feet wide and securely railed on each side so that foot passengers can pass over safely at all times. Any excavation of a sidewalk which disturbs only a portion of the square or rect~ pattern will re~,~e the re- paving of the entire s~a~e or rectangle. Section 31-37.5. Same; water courses. The pen~ittee shall provide for the flow of all water coarses, sewers or drains intercepted during the excavation work and shall replace the same in as good condition as it found them or shall make such visions for them as the city engineer may direct. The permittee shall nst obstruct the gutter of any street but shall use all t~roper measures to provide for the free passage of surface ~ater. The p~rmitt~e shall make provision te take care of all surplus water, muck, silt, slickings or other run-off pumped frem excavations or resulting frem sluicing or other operations and shall be responsible for any damage resultin~ frc~ its faiiure to so provide. Section 31-37.6. Same; monuments. The permittee shall not r~move or. disturb any monur~nts found on the line of the excavation work w%thout first obtair~ th~ permission of the city engineer to do so. Permission to re~mve or disturb such n~)raanents shall only be granted upon the condition that the permittee shall pay all expenses incident to the proper replacement of such ~t by the city. Section 31-38. Return to city or replacement of brides, etc. The permittee shall save and return to the city if it so desires all brick or o~ mater~l taken up, o~ replace same if lost or broken.
