(t) Accessibility of Equipment. Ail ~equipment <br />must be readily accessible and every pool shall be pro- <br />vided with necessary equipment for the measurement of <br />acidity or alkalinity and for residual determinations. <br />The equipment room shall be satisfactorily located and <br />adequately drained. <br /> <br /> (u)~ Dressing Rooms. Dressing Rooms shall be ade- <br />quately designed, located, drained, equipped, lighted <br />and ventilated. <br /> <br /> (v) Toilets. Toilet <br />and shall be adequately designed <br />facilities for men and women. <br /> <br />facilities shall be provided <br />and located with separate <br /> <br /> Sec. 14-18. Enclosure of Swimming Pool. Every <br />cutdoor swimming pool or family pool shall be completely <br />surrounded by a fence or wall not less than 4 feet in height, <br />which shall be so constructed as not to have openings, holes <br />or gaps larger than 4 inches in any dimension except for <br /> <br />doors and gaues; and if a picket fence is erected or main- <br />tained, the horizontal dimension shall not exceed 4 inches. <br />Such fence shall be constructed so as to come within two <br />inches of the ground at the bottom and shall be at least <br />five feet from the edge of the pool at any point. A dwell- <br />ing house or accessory building may be used as ~art of such <br />enctosureJ <br /> <br /> Ail gates or doors opening through such enclosure <br />shall be equipped with a self-closing and self-latching de- <br />vice for keeping the gate or door securely closed at all <br />times when not in actual use, except that the door of any <br />dwelling which forms a part of the enclosure need not be so <br />equipped. <br /> This requirement shall be applicable to all new <br />swimming pools or family pools hereafter constructed, other <br />than indoor poots~, and shall apply to all existing pools <br />which have a minimum depth of 18 inches of water. No person <br />in possession of land within the city, either as owner, pur- <br />chaser, lessee, tenant or a licensee, upon which is situated <br />a swimming pool or family pool having a minimum depth of 18 <br />inches shall fail to provide and maintain such fence or wall <br />as herein provided. <br /> The Director may make modifications in individual <br />cases, upon a showing of good cause with respect to the height, <br />nature or location of the fence, wall, gates or latches, or <br />the necessity therefor, provided the protection as sought <br />hereunder is not reduced thereby. The Director may permit <br />other protective devices or structures to be used so long as <br />the degree of protection afforded by the substitute devices <br /> <br /> <br />
