be'made thereto from'time ~o time With the Building Official, <br />and present such an inventory as necessary in the Com~ission's <br />annual report. <br /> <br />Section 9-22. <br /> <br />~'Historic Building" District~arkers - <br />Design: Agree~ent to Display; Erection <br />and ~aintenance; Cost. <br /> <br /> The first dut~ of the commission shall be to design ~e <br />appropriate marker for the proposed '~Olds Town~' district and <br />place such recommendation before City Council for adoption, <br /> also, ~ ' ' ~ <br /> aeslgn an appropriate marker bea~ing the seal of the <br /> ant wo~ds Hl~tor~c Building , a~d shall invite each o~er <br />of a historic building describe6 in the inventory and list pro- <br />vided for in Section 9-22 to display the marker thereon. If <br />such owner agrees to display the marker, he shall signify such <br />agreement by executing an instrument approved by the City Attorney, <br />a cop~ of which shall be filed in the office of the Building <br />Official. The Building Official shall cause to be erected and <br />tkereafter shall maintain such. marker on or adjacent to such <br />building on which shall be inscribed the date of construction <br />of the building and the reason why it is of historic interest. <br />The cost of making, inscribing, installing and mainta~n!ng such <br />marker shall be paid out of ~he appropriation made for the <br />erection and maintenance of street signs. <br /> <br />~e~tion 9-23. Unauthorized Display. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to display on any build- <br />ing, without the authorization of the commission, a marker provided <br />for in Section 9-22 or any imitation thereof. <br /> <br />Section 9-2~. <br /> <br />~rocedure to Remove Marker or Demolish <br />Building. <br /> <br /> The owner of a historic building who agrees to the display of <br />an official marker shall not remove the marker from the building <br />nor demolish the buildin~ nor a!ter its structural exterior appear- <br />ance without first applyihq tO ~he Building Official for approval <br />of such action. An application to remove an official marker or to <br />demolish or alter such building shall be made in writing by the <br />owner of the building to tbs Building Official on forms prescribed <br />by him and he shall i~ediately forward such application to the <br />co~mission for investigation and report, which report shall be made <br />within thirty days from the date on which it was referred to the <br />commission, for approval or disapproval.
