economic interests, opportunities andadvantages through <br />the execution and attainment of the purposes and objectives <br />declared in Section g-l, and to that end, may employ such reason- <br />able means of publicity and education as it may deem necessary <br />with relation to the preservation and protection of historic <br />buildings and structures and places and areas of historic interest <br />in the city. <br /> <br /> Section 9-18. Investigating and Delineating Building <br /> Structures, etc., ~_ich Should be Pre- <br /> served and Protected. <br /> <br /> It shall be the continuing duty of the commission to invest- <br />igate and delineate buildings, structures, places and areas in the <br />city having historic interest or value which should be preserved <br />and protected in the execution and attainment of the purposes <br />and objectives declared in Section 9-1 and to report thereon from <br />time to time to the Council for consideration as to whether they <br />or any of them shall be set apart for preservation and recognition, <br />through whatever means possible. <br /> <br />Section 9-19. <br /> <br />Ordinary Maintenance or Repair of Exterior <br />Architectural Features; Effect of Article. <br />on Determination of Building Official. <br /> <br /> Nodding in this ~_r~ticle ,shall be con,strmed to prevent ordinary <br />maintenance or repair of any exterior architectural feature now or <br />hereafter located in the Historic District. <br /> <br />Section 9-20. Appeals Upon Granting or Refusing to Grant <br /> Permits. <br /> <br /> Appeals may be taken from any action or decision of ~he Build- <br />ing Official in granting or refusing ~o grant a building per,_it <br />pursuant to ~he provisions of this article as provided in the Build- <br />ing Code, the Zoning Ordinance or by any other provision of law. <br /> <br />Section 9-21. inventory of Existing Buildings by Commission. <br /> <br /> The commission, in order to. further execute the purposes and <br />objectives declared in Section 9-1 shall make an inventory or list <br />of all existing buildings in the city erected prior to 1865 which <br />it deems to be of historic interest becaume of their architecture, <br />persons who have resided or events which have occurred therein or <br />for other historic reasons. Such inventory or list shall give a <br />brief description of each building; the date of its construction <br />as nearly as can be ascertained, the reason for including it in <br />such inventory or list, and the n~n~e and address of its present <br />owners as shown on the current land books of the city.
