In order to execute the purposes and objectives de- clared in Section 9-~, there is hereby created in the City a district to be kno~ as the '%[istoric District. '~ The boundaries of such district are shown on a map entitled '~llistoric District ~'~ which shall be filed and maintained mn the same manner required by Section 2-2 of this Ordinance foz other, zoning maps. Section ~-3. Compliance with Article. Section 9-4. Colo~ission of Architectural Review. (a) In order to further execute the purposes and object- ives declared in Section 9-! and pursuant to the power granted to and conferred upon the city, there is hereby created and established a co~nission of architectural review which shall be kno%~ as the Commission of Architectural Review, and hereinafter mn this article referred to as "con%~ission'~ (b) The coP~ission shall consist of five mez~ers who are citizens of the city. They shall be appointed by the City Council for terms of office of five years from the date of appoint- ment; provided that the terms of office of the five meimbers first appointed shall be for one~ ~wo, three, four and five years re- spectively, and %hereafter each member shall be appointed for a term of five years. One of the members of the com~_mssion shall be appointed from at least three nominees made by the Portsmouth Bar Association, one shall be appointed from at least three nominees -2-
