(c) No vehicle shall be stopped except close to and <br /> parallel to the right-hand edge of the curb or roadway, excep= <br /> that a vehicle may be stopped close to and parallel to the left- <br /> hand curb or edge of the roadway on one-way streets or may be <br /> parked at an angle where permitted by the city manager. <br /> <br /> (d) No vehicle shall be stopped at or in the vicinity <br />of a fire, vehicle or airplane accident or other area of emer- <br />gency, in such a manner as to create a traffic hazard or inter- <br />fere with the necessary procedures of police, firemen, rescue <br />workers or others whose duty it is to deal with such emer- <br />gencies. Any vehicle found unattended in the vlcini=y of such <br />fire, accident or area of emergency may be removed by order <br />of a police officer at the risk and expense, not to exceed <br />five dollars, of the owner if such vehicle cr'ea=es a traffic <br />hazard or interferes with the necessary procedures of police, <br />firemen, rescue workers or others whose assigned duty it <br />is ~o deal with such emergencies. Vehicles being used by <br />accredited information services, such as press, radio and tele- <br />vision, when being used for the gathering of news, shall be <br />exempt from the provisions of this section, except when act- <br />ually obstructing the police, firemen and rescue workers <br />dealing with such emergencies. <br /> <br /> (e) The provisions of this section shall no= apply <br />to any vehicle owned or controlled by the state department <br />of highways, or the city while actually engaged in the con- <br />struction, reconstruction or maintenance of highways. <br /> <br />Section 18-208.1. Stop lamps. <br /> <br /> Every motor vehicle, trailer or semi-trailer, ex- <br />cept an antique vehicle not originally equipped with a stop <br />lamp, registered in this state and operated on the highways <br />in this city shall be equipped with at least one stop lamp <br />of a type approved by the superintendent which automatically <br />exhibits a red or amber light plainly visible in clear weather <br />from a distance of five hundred feet to the rear of such <br />vehicle when the foot brake pedal is actuated. Motor vehicles <br />may be equipped with a braking warning system or device which <br />will cause the vehicle's brake lights to flash when the vehicle <br />is in motion but committed to an emergency or panic stop. <br /> <br /> Section 18-214. Other permissible lights; police and fire <br /> department vehicles, emergency vehicles, etc. <br /> <br /> Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not =o exceed <br />two fog lamps, one passing lamp, one driving lamp, two side <br />lamps of not more than six candlepower; interior light of not <br />more than fifteen candlepower; vacant or destination signs <br /> <br />-6- <br /> <br /> <br />
