AN ORDINANCE TO ~END SECTION 3-26 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF <br />THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, PERTAINING TO GROUP <br />HOUSING PROJECTS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 3-26 of the Zoning Ordinance of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1961 be amended and reordained <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 3-26. Group Housing Projects Exempted. <br /> <br /> ia) A group housing project as defined'~in Section 3-2(j) <br />shall be exempt from the dimensional requirements for residences <br />as stated in Article 5, provided that the site plan conforms with <br />the requirements of the Subdivision Ordinance of the City of <br />Portsmouth and that the area for the project as a whole with <br />respect to minimum area for the number of dwelling units, the <br />maximum allowable floor area devoted to residential purposes, <br />the maxim~ permissible plot coverage and side and rear:yard <br />requirements with respect to buildings immediately adjacent to <br />other plots, conform to the requirements of this ordinance for <br />the district in which it is located. <br /> <br /> (b) No group housing project shall be undertaken <br />without the prior approval of the City Council after recommend- <br />ation of the Planning Commission, as to the site plan thereof. <br /> <br /> (c) Off-site drainage improvements shall be provided <br />as specified in Section 32-19.1 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1961, such.section being a part of the <br />Subdivision Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia. <br /> <br /> 2.
