combustible waste material accummulated therein, and shall secure- <br />ly close and lock and thereafter keep closed and locked all doors; <br />windows and other openings into such building so long as it shall <br />re~in vacant or unoccupied. The owner shall also maintain the <br />building and premises in a clean, sanitary and safe condition so <br />as not to constitute a nuisance. <br /> <br />Section 4-75. Vacant or unoccupied buildings; when regis- <br /> tration and permits required. <br /> <br /> Whenever any building in the city. is or hereafter becomes <br />vacant or unoccupied and the building or.any of its doors, windows <br />or other openings cannot be securely closed by the conventional <br />means used in the design of the building, as required by Section <br />4-74 herein, the owner of such building shall, within fifteen days <br />thereafter, secure said building against unauthorized entry by <br />boarding up or by some other approved method; shall register such <br />building with the building official; and shall obtain therefor a <br />permit. ?~en such registration is accomplished and the permit fee <br />as set forth in Section 4-77 hereafter is paid, the building offi- <br />cial shall issue a permit allowing the building to 5e maintained <br />in a boarded-up condition for a period of one month from that date. <br /> <br /> If the building is to remain vacant for more than the <br />month for which the permit was issued, the o%~er shall renew said <br />permit on or before its expiration date by paying to the building <br />official the requisite permit fee. The permit must be obtained <br />or renewed and the fee paid for each month or a portion thereof <br />during which the building is vacant or unoccupied and unable to <br />be secured by conventional means. A new permit shall be issued <br />by the building official whenever the permit fee is paid for re- <br />newal. No re-registration shall be required upon renewal except <br />where a new owner becomes responsible for the building, in which <br />case, a new registration shall be filed with the building official <br />within ten days after assumption of responsibility for the building. <br /> <br />Section 4-76. Registration and permit forms. <br /> <br /> Registration shall be made on for~s supplied by the build- <br />ing official for such purpose and shall include the names and ad- <br />dresses of all persons having any interest in the premises, the <br />name and address of the person who shall be responsible for com- <br />pliance with this article, the facts and conditions of such vacancy, <br />the date the said building became vacant and the length of time <br />the building is expected to remain vacant or unoccupied. <br /> <br /> Perm/ts shall be on forms supplied by the building offi- <br />cial for such purpose and shall include the name of the person to <br />whom issued, the full address of the building coveted, a statement <br />that the required permit fee has been paid, and the expiration date <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
