out of repair, so loaded or in such manner as to create loud <br />and unnecessary grating, grinding, rattling or other noises. <br /> <br /> (e) The blowing of any steam whistle attached to any <br />stationary boiler, except to give notice of the time to begin or <br />stop work or as a warning of danger. <br /> <br /> (f) The discharge into the open air of the exhaust <br />of any steam engine, stationary internal combustion engine or <br />motor yehicle engine, except through a muffler or other device <br />which will effectively prevent loud or explosive noises therefrom. <br /> <br /> (g) The creation of any excessive noise on any street <br />adjacent to any school, institution of learning or court, while <br />the same is in session, or adjacent to any building used as a <br />place of public worship, while being so used, or adjacent to any <br />hospital, which unreasonably interferes with~the workings of <br />such school, institution or court or the services being conducted <br />in such place of public worship, or which disturbs or unduly <br />annoys patients in such hospitals. <br /> <br /> (h) The creation of a loud and excessive noise in <br />connection with loading or unloading any vehicle or the opening <br />and destruction of bales, boxes, crates and containers. <br /> <br /> (i) The shouting and crying of peddlers, hawkers and <br />vendors which disturbs the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. <br /> <br /> (j) The operation of any radio, loud-speaker or other <br />mechanical device whereby the sound is carried directly upon the <br />streets of the city for advertising purposes or for the purpose <br />of attracting the public, or which is so placed and operated <br />that the sound coming therefrom can be heard to the annoyance <br />or inconvenience of travlers upon the streets or of persons <br />in neighboring premises. <br /> <br /> (k) The erection (including excavation), demolition, <br />alteration or repair of any building in any residential district <br />or section, and the excavation of streets in any residential dis- <br />trict or section, ~ther than between the, ho~rs ~f 7:00.~.m. and <br />8:00 p.m., except in cases of urgent necessity in the interest <br />of the public health and safety. The provisions of this section <br />shall not apply to any vehicle of the city while engaged upon <br />necessary public business, to excavations or repairs of bridges <br />or streets by ~r on behalf of the c~ty during the.night ho~rs, <br />where the public welfare and convenience renders it ~mposszble <br />to perform such work during the day. <br /> <br />Section 19-41. indecent exposure. <br /> <br />-6- <br /> <br /> <br />
