AiN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 18 OF THE CLASSIFICATION AND PAY <br />PLAN OF THE CITY TO INCREASE THE COMPLEMENT OF THE FIRE DEPART- <br />MENT. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the Classification and Pay Plan of the City of <br />Portsmouth, 1973-74 be amended by amending Section 18 thereof, such <br />amended section to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 18. Complements of Fire Department and <br /> Police Department. <br /> <br /> (a) The authorized complement of the Fire Department <br />shall be one Chief, one Deputy Chief, six Batallion Chiefs, thirty- <br />one Captains, thirty-one Lieutenants and one hundred forty-two <br />Privates. <br /> <br /> (b) The authorized complement of the Police Department <br />shall be one Chief, one Deputy Chief, three Inspectors, seven <br />Captains, twelve Lieutenants, twenty-six Sergeants .and one hund- <br />red fifty Patrolmen. <br /> <br /> 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after the <br />date of its passage. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, at a meeting held September 11, 1973. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
