AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF WILLIAMSBURG AVENUE BETWEEN <br />NORTH STREET AND LONDON BOULEVARD (S~73-7). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Elks Lodge NO. 82 and the <br />Ambassador Club of Portsmouth have made application to' vacate, <br />close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of <br />Williamsburg Avenue; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council, adopted <br />June 26, 1973, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section <br />15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia (1950) as amended, to v~ew the <br />hereinafter described portion of the said street and to report <br />in writing whether in their, opinion, any, and if any, what <br />inconvenience would result from discontinuing the below described <br />street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing <br />that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing <br />and discontinuing said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia that that portion of Williamsburg <br />Avenue hereinafter d~scribed, be closed and vacated as a public <br />street. <br /> <br /> All that certain piece or parcel of <br />land lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, and comprising that portion of <br />Williamsburg Avenue (formerly Second Avenue) <br />located between the southern right of way line <br />of North Street and the northern right of way <br />line of London Boulevard. <br /> <br /> AND, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the whole of the <br />portion so closed shall be expressly subject to an easement <br />reserved unto the City of Portsmouth for the construction, <br />maintenance and repair of water mains, sewer mains, gas mains <br />and storm drainage facilities. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held September 11, 1973. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />CITY CLERK <br /> <br /> <br />
