The Advisory Council shall consult and confer with the <br />director of the court services unit from time to time relative <br />~o the development and extension of ~he courm service program. <br />The council shall be organized and shall function according to <br />such rules and regulations as it may hereafter adopt; provided, <br />however, that no such rule or regu!afion shall be effective un- <br />til approved by the chief judge° The members of the Advisory <br />Council shall serve as such without compensation. <br /> <br />Section 2-333. Removal of members. <br /> <br /> City Council may remove a member of the Advisory Council <br />at any time if it finds that the best interests of the Advisory <br />Council would be served by such action, if the chief judge of ~ne <br />Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court shall request removal of a <br />m~ber from the Advisory Council by written com~unication to City <br />Council, such meD~er shall immediately be suspended from the Ad- <br />visory Council. Such suspension shall become final se~aration~ <br />from the Advisory Council unless, within thirty days from receipt <br />of such written communication, City Council shall, by official ac- <br />tion, decline to concur with the chief judge's recoz~endation. <br />Upon such refusal to concur with the chie~ judge's recommendation, <br />the suspension shall forthwith terminate and the member shall re- <br />sume his service on the Advisory Council. <br /> <br />its passage. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall take effect from the date of <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia~ at a meeting held October 22, 1974. <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
